The Yorkie Poo is a very popular designer crossbreed whose parents are the Yorkshire Terrier and the Toy or Miniature Poodle. They’re suitable for all types of living situations including families with children and small apartments. However, they should be supervised around small children as they have a tendency to nip when overly excited or irritated. They’re also known to be “yappy” which dog owners who live in apartments must take into consideration.
Overall, the Yorkie Poo is an intelligent and fun-loving breed who loves to learn new tricks as well as show them off. Initially bred as a hypoallergenic companion, the Yorkie Poor also does well in performance competition such as obedience and agility. Yorkie Poos do have a stubborn side, so training may be a challenge at times. Training sessions should be kept short, positive, fun, and engaging to hold their interest.
Yorkie Poos are active little dogs, requiring moderate daily exercise. Backyard romps, short walks, and interactive playtime are all they need. Yorkie Poos aren’t necessarily clingy dogs, but they are prone to separation anxiety if left alone for long periods of time. This little dog loves to be the center of attention as well as provide their fair share of affection.
