The Whoodle is a relatively new, yet popular designer crossbreeds. It’s parents are the Poodle and the Soft-Coated Wheaten Terrier. Its name is fun to say and the breed itself is just as fun to have around. They’re also considered hypoallergenic, making them well suited for allergy sufferers.
The Whoodle is a very enthusiastic and intelligent dog. They respond to training and commands easily, however their energy takes consistency and a firm hand. Positive reinforcement methods are best as these dogs are also sensitive and will not respond to harshness. Early socialization is always required for these dogs to prevent any problematic behavior.
Whoodles are not overly active dogs, but they are energetic and playful. They will not be well suited for an inactive owner as they do need at least an hour of rigorous daily exercise as well as interactive playtime and mental stimulation. If these needs are not fulfilled, Whoodles will likely resort to destructive behaviors.
These fun loving and playful pups get along very well with children and do best in a home with a fenced-in yard. While the standard-sized Whoodle is not suitable for apartments, miniature Whoodles are, given that their daily exercise needs are fulfilled.
