The Pomapoo is a designer cross breed whose parents are the Pomeranian and the Toy Poodle. Compact, intelligent, and loving, this designer breed inherited some of the best toy-sized dog traits around. Due to their size, the Pomapoo is suitable for apartments as well as large households with fenced-in backyards.
Pomapoos are laid back, friendly little dogs. They’re not typically aggressive or shy, but they do pack big personalities. These dogs respond very well to training and socialization, and it’s very important to start with both very early on. Once a regular routine is established, the Pomapoo will pick up on training cues much quicker. Without proper training and socialization, these dogs will develop “small dog syndrome” and display destructive behavior.
Pomapoos get along great with children, although because of their size, small children should be supervised during playtime. This breed does not have a great need for exercise, and their activity levels will match that of their owners. A short daily walk and some interactive playtime are all they need, which make them great companions for seniors and inactive people. Pomapoos will develop separation anxiety if left alone for too long.
