The Mini Bernedoodle , also known as the Bernese Mountain Poo, is a fairly new designer crossbreed of the Bernese Mountain Dog and the Mini Poodle. They were crossbred to create a perfect family companion with a low-shedding coat, which makes them suitable for allergy sufferers.
The Mini Bernedoodle is excellent with children of all ages, even the youngest children in the family. Because of their friendly and gentle nature, they also make excellent service and therapy dogs. Because of this non-aggressive nature, however, they may be too friendly and gentle to serve as guard dogs. They also bark infrequently, making them a quiet breed.
Mini Bernedoodles are moderately active dogs that require about thirty minutes of daily exercise. They enjoy hiking with their owners as well as short walks and interactive playtime. They also love to swim. They’ll match their owner’s energy levels, meaning that they’re fine with going for a run or snuggling up on the couch. They adapt quickly to all types of climates, making them a great all-weather breed.
This breed is eager to please and very intelligent. Training shouldn’t be difficult as they pick up commands quickly. However, training and socialization should begin early on. Mini Bernedoodles also have a low prey drive, which means they’ll get along with other dogs and house pets.
