The Double Doodle is a triple-threat in the designer breed world. It’s a cross between a Goldendoodle and a Labradoodle, which come from Golden Retrievers, Labrador Retrievers, and Poodles. The Poodles were first bred with each of the purebreds to create a designer hybrid. Then, the two hybrids were crossed to create a whole new designer breed.
Relatable to a living teddy bear, the Double Doodle is the ultimate companion. They’re intelligent, loving, and they’re a low-shedding breed, making them a good match with allergy sufferers. They’re highly trainable and eager to please, as long as you establish yourself as the pack leader first! They also require ample exercise daily and mental stimulation as they are high-energy dogs. Socialization and continuous active playtime with other dogs and people is also necessary.
Because they’re an active breed, the Double Doodle is not suitable for apartments. They do best in homes with fenced in yards, especially if those homes have families with children. Double Doodles get along well with children, but should be supervised with smaller children due to their energy levels and playfulness. Double Doodles don’t like to be left alone due to separation anxiety. If left untrained and unsupervised, they may get into trouble.
