The Aussiedoodle is a recently refined and impressive crossbreed between an Australian Shepherd and a Poodle. Its truest origins are unknown but are a reflection of its parents who come from an ancestry of herding, duck hunting, and incredible intelligence. The Aussiedoodle is recognized as a designer breed that comes from two purebred parents, but cannot be considered a purebred itself due to the nature of its crossbreeding.
The Aussiedoodle comes in three sizes including standard, miniature, and toy. Their coats vary from wavy to curly, requiring different levels of grooming. They also come in a wide variety of color combinations. Once again, this is attributed to the nature of crossbreeding.
Since the Aussiedoodle comes from two highly intelligent, energetic and affectionate breeds, they’re temperament is universally regarded as the same. They make excellent and safe family dogs. However, supervision is necessary around children due to their rambunctiousness as small pups.
Aussiedoodles are very devoted to their owners and require constant interaction. As a highly intelligent and energetic breed, they require up to two hours of exercise daily—including challenging and mentally stimulating tasks—proper training, and socialization with other humans and animals early on.
